The Name

At Your Wayfinders, our name honours the ancient Polynesian navigators who transited the Pacific Ocean using nothing but their knowledge of the stars, ocean swells, birds, and the rhythms of nature. Long before GPS, sextants, and compasses, they trusted their relationship with the Earth and ocean to find their way.

The wayfinders’ legacy reminds us: when we are tuned into the world around us, we can navigate and lead with purpose and direction.

As Wade Davis wrote in his book, The Wayfinders:

“What is even more astonishing is that the entire science of wayfinding is based on dead reckoning. You only know where you are by knowing precisely where you have been and how you got to where you are.”

Our Story

Recognizing the need for an approach that combined strategy with genuine collaboration—and one that valued relationships and community as much as outcomes—Kala founded Your Wayfinders in 2020. Your Wayfinders is based out of Creston, British Columbia, on the traditional territory of the Yaqan Nukiy, and the Ktunaxa Nation. Your Wayfinders is grounded in community where strong relationships and a deep connection to the land shape the way people live and work.

Our vision has evolved into a company dedicated to fostering clarity, building trust, and promoting positive change within organizations and communities. Your Wayfinders has now grown to a talented team residing across British Columbia.
