Kala brings over 15 years of experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects across British Columbia, fostering respectful and effective partnerships with clients and collaborators alike. Her leadership combines strategic planning with a strong commitment to sustainability, cultural respect, and meaningful, community-driven results. As CEO, senior advisor, and strategist, Kala ensures every project reflects the priorities and values of those she serves.
Laura Heykamp, CPHR
Laura has over a decade of experience in strategic planning, people operations, and project administration across diverse sectors, including hospitality, construction, non-profit, and community economic development. As People Operations Manager and Team Lead, she oversees the employee lifecycle, supports organizational strategy, and strengthens team capacity through effective HR practices. Her work ensures that Your Wayfinders maintains a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven team.
Kayleen Turner
Kayleen brings over a decade of experience in communications, engagement, and marketing, collaborating with Indigenous Nations, government, businesses, and communities to foster meaningful dialogue and strategic outcomes. Her work blends creative design with culturally aware engagement strategies to ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging. As Communications & Engagement Specialist, she develops tailored tools and facilitates processes that align closely with client priorities and community needs.
Ashley Harris
Ashley is a highly organized Project Coordinator with extensive experience in administration, regulatory compliance, and environmental program delivery. She supports projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives remain on track through effective coordination and interest holder communication. With a strong foundation in coastal ecology and a commitment to professional growth, she is working toward becoming a certified Project Manager in 2026.

Kristina is a passionate Project Coordinator, bringing over ten years of experience in environmental education and program management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, a Master’s degree in Environmental Education, and certificates in project management and data analysis. Combining strong skills in risk mitigation, administration, and community engagement, Kristina ensures each project she supports is both strategically grounded and responsive to community needs.

Alisha is a dedicated Project Coordinator who provides essential behind-the-scenes support to keep projects running smoothly. She assists with documentation, file structuring, and coordination, ensuring that deliverables are met. Amber supports Your Wayfinders as a Junior Project Coordinator, assisting with scheduling, documentation, and communication to keep projects organized and on track. She works closely with project managers and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and align with client objectives. Eager to build her skills, Amber brings enthusiasm and attention to detail to every stage of the project process.
